2009 Wigs 4 Kids Holiday Party!
The Wigs 4 Kids annual holiday party took place on Sunday, November 29, 2009 from 1p.m. to 4p.m. at Chip Shotz Restaurant located in the St. Clair Shores Country Club.
Thank you to everyone who helped contribute to making this event a success! We'd especially like to thank Mr. Giftos, and National Coney Island for their continued support in sponsoring our ambassador's holiday party for the fifth consecutive year!

Art Van's Million Dollar Charity Challenge!
In honor of the 50th anniversary of Art Van Furniture, its Chairman and Founder Art Van Elslander has provided $1,000,000 to fund 50 grants ranging from $5,000 to $50,000, supporting programs serving children as well as health and human services throughout the state of Michigan. The grants will be designed as Challenge Gifts for each organization in order to maximize fundraising opportunities.
Wigs 4 Kids is honored to be one of the recipients of the Art Van Million Dollar Charity Challenge!Art Van has provided funding for our Adopt-a-Kid program which helps provide wigs and services for the children in our program. We are so grateful to Art Van for their support.

2009 Wigs 4 Kids Gala, Treasure 4 Tresses!
Thank YOU for making the sixth annual Wigs 4 Kids gala the best one to date! A great time was had by all! We were fortunate enough to have a successful event even in this difficult economic climate. Thank you to all of those who contibuted; whether it was donating a raffle item, making a monetary donations, attending the event or just sending well wishes, we appreciate your support!

Introducing Bernice's Bad Hair Days!
Wigs 4 Kids has paired with Jodi Cardin, author, and Life Reloaded Publishing Company to offer a Wigs 4 Kids version of Bernice's Bad Hair Days, a children's book that raises awareness about the need for hair donations. In the publication, Bernice quickly learns to be thankful for her unruly locks and recruits her friends in a plan to help those less fortunate.

Cuts 4 Cash/Stars
Showing sensitivity to the economic climate of Michigan, we here at Wigs 4 Kids have developed a two new components of our community outreach program. The first, Cuts 4 Cash, is a sponsorship program that allows hair donors to solicit monetary donations per inch of hair they donate to the organization.
In addition, local schools, individuals and businesses will also have the opportunity to sell stars for $1 each to indicate their support of the mission of Wigs 4 Kids. The stars will then be displayed at participating locations.

2009 Gala News!!
Our 6th Annual Gala, "Treasure 4 Tresses," will be held on Friday, October 2, 2009 at Barrister Gardens in Saint Clair Shores. We are initiating a few exciting changes to this year's event, so be sure to check back for periodic updates! In the mean time, please spread the word to those who may enjoy the evening. Wigs 4 Kids & More Children's Wellness Center
Over the past 5 years, Wigs 4 Kids has seen incredible growth helping over 163 Michigan children. The need for the Wigs 4 Kids program is great and our vision is to continue to provide custom cut and styled wigs at no charge in a setting of holistic care.
Wigs 4 Kids is in the process of securinig a location for a children's wellness center. The center will provide a setting of holistic care with therapeutic programs and allied health services in cooperation with other like minded organizations. The Wigs 4 Kids & More Children's Wellness Center will sponsor workshops, professional training and guidance, wellness classes, arts programs, and physical activities to support personal growth as well as camaraderie in an environmentally safe place as young people journey through their health challenges.

Season's Greetings from Wigs 4 Kids
The Wigs 4 Kids annual holiday party took place on Sunday, December 7, 2008 from 1p.m. to 4p.m. at Chip Shotz Restaurant located in the St. Clair Shores Country Club.
The party was a wonderful way to kick off the holiday season! Wigs 4 Kids ambassadors and their familes were treated to a delicious lunch, and treats, courtesy of National Coney Island. The afternoon also featured holiday music compliments of Elite Entertainment, a visit from Santa and his elves and presents for all the kids!
A big thank you to Mr. Giftos, National Coney Island and Chip Shotz for their continued support and for sponsoring our ambassador's holiday party for the fourth consecutive year!

2008 Annual Gala, "The Mane Event"
Our fifth annual gala was held on November 14 at Barrister Gardens in St. Clair Shores. This night is a tribute to our ambassadors and, in addition to the Michael Balos Trio, featured entertainment by two of our ambassadors!
The gala is our largest source of funding for our program. A successful gala ensures that we will be able to continue to reach out to any Michigan child who needs our services. We are so fortunate to have the support of the community.
A lot of hard work and dedication goes into the planning, preparation and wrap-up for this event. Our most sincere gratitude goes out to all those involved for helping to make this event a successful evening for the organization and for our ambassadors!
